Description
Free Undelete, as the name suggests is a free data recovery program to help undelete and rescue your lost or deleted files. While it supports almost all Windows-based file systems including NTFS 1, NTFS 2, FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32, it does not run on the earlier versions of Windows. For Windows 95, 98 and Me, you should use File Recovery 4, listed above, as your first choice for data recovery software (like Free Undelete, File Recovery 4 is also free).
One of the biggest advantages that Free Undelete has over other programs is the ability to sort your file recovery results by a number of choices including folder location, file type and data modified. Plus you can apply filters over the results at the same time. This is particularly helpful when you want to recover a deleted Word document or spreadsheet on your drive and there may be multiple drafts and auto-saved backup copies. Likewise, when you try to rescue digital photos and run a scan for undeleted files, you may get swamped with results on larger memory cards, so the combination of sorting and filters in Free Undelete can make it easier to pinpoint the exact data file your are trying recover. Note: Free Undelete is free for personal or individual use, but commercial/business users will be required to pay a small fee.
